Busy summer!

Wow, it's been almost 2 months since my last post... definitely a busy summer this year, but very successful!

August brought our 27th Annual Flagstaff Open Studio tour, and I topped my all time sales this year!

This last photo is my hanger holder - at the start of Saturday it was empty... this is at the end of Saturday!

We had 5 artists this year, and all of us had sales, and a larger than normal crowd, so another successful event.

At the Artists' Coalition of Flagstaff gallery, sales have been brisk all summer long, which is delightful!  Hard to believe we've been at the mall nearly 15 years already!  For all who have stopped to browse and shop, we truly appreciate your support for our small band of local artists! 😍

Here are a few things I've been working on recently:

My "To do" list is still very long, so I've expanded my dyeing space to let me dye more items
at a time, and splurged recently to have our ice maker repaired!

Coming attractions:  Cotton kitchen towels, more socks, jackets, mug rugs, hot pads, sheesh!  No time to write more, have to get back to it!  I hope you have all had a lovely summer, and I look forward to the changing seasons ahead!

October Show and Tell

This has been a busy month for me!  I am working to build up my inventory for Holiday shopping.
Silk Scarves

Trivets in 3 sizes
I also taught my first Lids, Handles and Embellishments bowl class on the 13th.

I had 5 lovely gals in class, and they took off running with these new techniques!

And I have continued to add items to my Artfire Store, for those who are not in the Flagstaff Area.

Weather-wise, we had our first snowfall of the season:

I stayed home and thoroughly enjoyed watching it come down... love the changing seasons!

Last week, my friend Cinde and I took a day trip through Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona and ended up in Jerome, a quaint art colony located in an old mining town.  I didn't get shots of the town, but did get a shot of the San Francisco Peaks in the distance:

So with just a couple of weeks until the Holiday Expo show November 3, I'm busy working on what I will bring to sell.  The show will be at the Flagstaff Mall from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and there will be a number of Artists' Coalition of Flagstaff Artists there to show and sell their work.  If you are in the area, I hope you will stop by!

Lots of things going on!

So much is happening right now... all good!  Next weekend is our annual Holiday Artists' Marketplace, expanded this year to 2 days!  I will have racks of tie-dye clothing, knit and crochet scarves, covered journals and notepads available.  Here's the latest covered journal, just finished this morning:

This will be my last show of the year, but I am very excited to announce that the Artists' Coalition of Flagstaff will be opening a beautiful new co-op gallery November 15 at the Flagstaff Mall!  I will be a participating member, which gives me the opportunity to offer my bowls, dyed and shabby chic scarves, and some of my wall art for consideration!  The location is in the same storefront where we had our Prelude exhibit in August:
It is a beautiful venue, and we are really looking forward to becoming a regular presence here!
Here are a few of the bowls I have recently completed, which will be on display:

Take in is next week, so I will post pictures once I have my space set up.  If you are in the Flagstaff area, I hope you will come by!  Here is the flier for our Grand Opening:

Hope to see you there!

Off to a great start!

2015 already promises to be a fun year for me!  I have found a new niche product with my hand dyed grocery totes - already sold 36 this month to a friend, and didn't even have time to take pix of the newest ones.  I have an order in for Kona cotton, replenished my grosgrain ribbon for handles, and hope to have a new batch ready soon.  Meanwhile, here is a picture of some that I sold to my friend:

Next on my list of things to share with you is my upcoming studio remodel, slated to be done in late February.  My hubby currently has a workroom next to my studio, and we have decided to move him to the existing seldom-used "Guest" room across the hall so that I can have the wall knocked out between my studio and his old work room, giving me double the studio space!  I'm over the moon about this, as it will give me more room for storage and a central core where I can set up work tables and hopefully have some small classes for dyeing, batik, printing, etc. Here are some shots of my current studio, with most of my materials removed to the garage:
North and east walls
East and south walls
South and west walls
West and north walls
The north wall will be torn out, and the carpet in both rooms removed and replaced by laminate flooring.  And the closet will be retrofitted with sliding mirrored doors for easier access.  I did not take pix yet of the other room as it is filled to capacity right now.  I plan to get shots when the clutter is gone, promise!
On another front, I am getting ready to start offering some of my scarves and wall art at the Artists' Coalition of Flagstaff's new gallery location in Tam's Boutique, 117 N Beaver St. in Flagstaff.  We will have a grand opening of the gallery part at First Friday Art Walk in February, so I'm hoping all my friends in Flagstaff will come out!   Here is one of the pieces I plan to show next month, a fiber collage I created in 2013:
It is currently suspended from a different piece of Juniper, but I don't have a picture of it, so this will have to do.
Finally, my first show of the year will be in April which seems like a long time away, but I know the time will fly by so I must get back to work to replenish my inventory!   Happy New Year to you all!

ACF Gallery

I just saw this picture on FB... it is the Artists' Coalition of Flagstaff Gallery, and they are ready for First Friday Art Walk!  They are featuring gift items for $25 and under as well as a beautiful selection of items from our members...

I am very pleased to have my Shabby Chic Scarves on sale there (see right side of picture) as well as some affordable gift items.  This is a fun gallery, and we have a very wide selection of many mediums available... if you happen to be in the Flagstaff area, I encourage you to stop by!  The gallery is at 111 E Aspen Ave., just east of San Francisco St. north of Rte 66.

Scarves in ACF Gallery

They're up!  My brand new mini-boutique area is hung in the Artists' Coalition Gallery on Aspen in Flagstaff!

I have been a busy bee, and finished 20 scarves for the display, just in time for First Friday Art Walk this Friday, Dec. 6th.  I have some nice gift items available there as well, for under $25, as will a number of our members, so it's a great place to go for affordable holiday gift shopping!
Meanwhile, I'm heading back to the scarf works... need to start cranking out the next batch!  See ya...
